Food Waste

Food waste that ends up in landfills is a contributor to GHG emissions in the form of methane. Food waste occurs within the ICI sector at various levels of the food supply chain. Thus, reducing food waste in the ICI sector provides an opportunity for positive climate impact.

The City of Kingston continues to support community partnerships on food waste diversion and food rescue through community organizations such as Loving Spoonful.
