Great work Kingston! We have reached 5365 participants and counting! Go Kingston Go!
It's official though: we need to order more bags next year! Due to the staggering community response, which doubled last year's participation, we have run out of the iconic yellow bags. Sorry for any inconvenience, but we have been truly overwhelmed by the response. We will ensure we have a LOT more bags next year!
Please note that due to inclement weather earlier in the week, the Pitch-in Community Clean-up has been extended to April 24th. Pitch-in bags will be collected by the City of Kingston's waste department on Wednesday, April 25th.
The goal of the event is to encourage community groups, individuals and businesses to celebrate the start of spring by cleaning up waste from local parks, streets, and shorelines.
Pitch-In Kingston is expanding to celebrate our shorelines and waterways!
As Kingston is closely tied to the water- historically, geographically, and culturally, Pitch-In Kingston will honour this relationship by including a focus on cleaning up our aquatic system.
This year, we are collaborating with the Great Canadian Shoreline Clean-up and participants would focus on cleaning up waterways as part of their efforts. Those who are interested are further requested to collect data about the waste that they find and collect.
Our goal for 2018 is to have 4,000 people participating in Pitch-In Kingston - an increase from almost 3,000 people participating last year.
Register for this city-wide cause today!
Pitch-In Kingston is part of the national Pitch-In Canada event and is once again being organized by Sustainable Kingston and is supported by Tim Horton’s, Kingston & Area Real Estate Association as well as the City of Kingston.
