2017:

  • In June, Toast & Jam and the Bread & Butter Bakery completed a waste audit of the daily waste generated by the cafe and bakery to assess for waste diversion opportunities. One opportunity was to pass on organic waste to a local farmer, who regularly picks it up to feed his farm animals.

  • An investigation into the timing of oven use, to maximize efficiency, and minimize dead space.

  • Bread and Butter Bakery underwent a lighting audit to determine their suitability for an upgrade from T8 fluorescent bulbs to high efficiency LED lighting in the bakery.
