Earth Hour to take place March 25, 2017
About Earth Hour
Earth Hour is a global movement that aims to inspire and empower individuals, businesses and governments around the world to push climate change to the top of the agenda. It is a revolutionary movement completely powered by people – their ideas, interests, ambitions and actions.
This year to recognize Earth Hour, Sustainable Kingston will be hosting a social media campaign, so that our community has the opportunity to learn how to ‘go beyond the hour’. We will be offering information on commercial and residential energy conservation programs, opportunities to get involved in renewable energy projects in the community, as well as fun facts about Earth Hour, both in our community and around the world.
How To Get Involved
On Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 8:30 pm, Kingston residents are urged to turn off non-essential lights for one hour to mark Earth Hour, an annual “lights out” awareness event that mobilizes millions across the globe to highlight the need for climate action.
